General Motors (GM) in the year’s Super Bowl commercial promoted Electric Vehicles (EVs) as mainstream geared toward everyday Americans. This commercial was picked up by many media outlets as one of the best commercials. The commercial was done in humorous manner where Will Ferrell gets angry and picks a fight with Norway, because it is the country with the most EVs per capita in the world. He wants America to beat Norway.
Leading up to Super Bowl, Will Ferrell had several snippets to provoke Norway. The favorite was the commercial where he orders 5 million pizzas with anchovies to provoke the Norwegians.
The Prime Minister responded to Will Ferrell in a tweet.

And so did Audi Norway — They punched back with a few videos with ‘Game of Thrones’ star Kristoffer Hivju.
“The Super Bowl is the perfect venue for the incomparable Will Ferrell to encourage us all to reconsider what we know about electric vehicles, and to invite Everybody In,” said Deborah Wahl, GM global chief marketing officer. “We … share Norway’s pursuit of an all-electric future.”
“It’s been incredible to see the high-profile retweets of and creative responses to our Super Bowl ad and Audi Norge’s video series is a favorite of many of us at GM.”
What is great about the GM campaign Everybody In is that humor is leading the way with energy, optimism and fun.
When the laughter has subsided, in-depth articles about the benefits of EV will follow in its trails to satisfy the curious public. One such great article is by the Atlantic, “A Super Bowl Ad that the Biden Presidency Made Possible.”
The way to move climate change in the right direction is optimism and humor. GM is inspiring us all to move us in that direction.
